In view of a paradigm shift in healthy ageing, IHU HealthAge aims to advance research in geroscience through the deployment of the WHO’s ICOPE programme.

HealthAge will set up a reference university clinic for healthy longevity. As part of the prevention aspect of the ‘ageing well’ bill, a prevention check-up will be carried out at ages 60-65 and 70-75 to identify any weaknesses and define a personalised prevention plan. Patients admitted to the clinic will continue to benefit from and have access to the latest innovations designed to improve their health and slow down the biological ageing process.

The University Longevity Clinic will be a ‘pivotal’ clinical structure for the IHU HealthAge, providing a continuum of care and research in the field of healthy ageing. It will be used to model a holistic, multidisciplinary and integrative approach, as well as to promote teaching and clinical research in the field of healthy ageing.

The objectives of this clinic will be to :

  • Target the population from 60-65 years old (prior to frailty/dependence)
  • Enable a dual approach:
    • By pathology: individualised assessment of the risk of major ageing-related diseases
    • By intrinsic capacity domain (ICOPE)
  • Implement a personalised care plan targeting both intrinsic capacity domains and individual risk factors
  • Continuously integrate diagnostic/therapeutic innovations from geroscience research
