DREES (Directorate of Research, Studies, Evaluation and Statistics) report
DREES recently published a report highlighting the fact that, between 2015 and 2022, the proportion of people aged 60 and over living at home who have lost their independence fell from 10% to 8%, a decrease of 180,000 people. An even more marked fall was observed among people aged 75 and over. These figures confirm a promising trend: ageing in good health is not an unattainable ideal, but a reality in the making.
Nature Aging article by John Beard
A recent article by John Beard, a member of the IHU’s International Scientific Advisory Board, published in Nature Aging, reveals that 70-year-olds today have an intrinsic capacity equivalent to that of 60-year-olds a decade ago. In addition, work from the INSPIRE-T cohort, also published in Nature Aging, provides valuable tools for monitoring and improving the long-term health of senior citizens.
