Recruiting from 20
Many young people from 20 to 35 have parents, grand-parents and sometimes great grand-parents living longer and longer but not necessarily better: loss of autonomy and dependency, demencia, neurodegenerative diseases, age-related chronic diseases (diabetes, hypertension, heart diseases, cancers etc).
The INSPIRE translational research aims to prevent or delay (starting from 20 years old) the appearance of age-related diseases and adopt an integrated care approach as defined by WHO in its ICOPE program. It means the care system should no longer be pathology-centered but patient and function-centered to allow people to do what matters to them as long as possible with healthy aging.
Young volunteers are as important in the INSPIRE research cohort as the older ones. Indeed first signs of aging start from 20 to 30 (such as sarcopenia features or skin aging) and that’s why aging biomarkers and mechanisms have to be studied from 20 years old.
Research in geroscience and prevention are key to promote a healthy aging and people’s autonomy.
Helping medical research young volunteers will also help their relatives, and themselves to live better and have a greater future.
In order to help young workers with weak contracts or students, a 100€ allowance will be given when some optional samplings are accepted.
